A note about Jamie and his new album, “STEPPIN’ OUT”

There are singers, and then there are storytellers. Jamie Davis belongs to that rare and distinguished tradition of vocal jazz artists whose voices do more than interpret a song, they inhabit it.

A world-renowned Grammy Award-winning baritone, Jamie Davis has earned his place among the great vocalists of our time. As a former lead vocalist of the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, he carried forward a rich musical legacy while establishing a style unmistakenly his own. In the classic tradition of iconic predecessors like the great Arthur Prysock and Joe Williams, Davis brings warmth, elegance, power, and authencity to every performance.

In this remarkable collection, Jamie is stepping out on a journey through some of music’s most enduring and beloved songs and invites listeners to accompany him. From unforgettable ballads that speak directly to the heart, to soulful blues steeped in feeling and truth, to infectious swinging bossa nova’s that celebrate rhythm and joy, each selection showcases the depth and versatility of his amazing artistry.

With impeccable phrasing, emotional honesty, and a voice that resonates with both strength and sophistication, Jamie Davis reminds us why great songs never fade and why great singers like himself remain timeless. This album is more than a collection of performances – it is a celebration of the enduring power of melody, storytelling, and swing.

So, get ready to settle in, turn up the music, and enjoy an unforgettable evening in the company of one of jazz’s finest voices.
